THE OLD KENNELS BREAD RECIPE
I am always getting asked for our bread recipe - this is our simple recipe for use in your bread machine
ingredients
500g flour - any strong bread flour (Otterton Mill strong brown is my favorite avalable from Joshuas and other farm shops locally)
1tsp salt
one sachet or two and a half tsps bread machine yeast
1tsp butter or olive oil
300mls water (or a splash more if your using seeds as they suck it up)
optional - about four tablespoons of pumkin and sunflour seeds (or whatever you have - try black onion seeds, poppy, etc etc)
No huge secrets here - just put all the ingredients into the bread machine and I set it to the fastest programme, for a 500g loaf and a light crust if you have options. If it helps you chosing a machine, I dont think it needs to be too expensive. We have had a Morphy Richards bread machine for 10 years, that finally gave up, and now I have a Kenwood. My Mum and Auntie have Panasonic and we all have great bread. Other brands I cant vouch for!
