This simple rectangular basket is made a bit like a mini hurdle by weaving round upright sticks held in a screw block (vice). The base is then bent into shape and secured with end borders and finished with a twisted handle. It makes an attractive fruit or flower basket.

REQUIREMENTS LIST

Sharp secateurs
Small very sharp knife (or craft knife)
Ruler
Bodkin (if you have one)

All of the above will be available for loan if you do not have any particular item, so please don’t buy anything specially.

Comfortable footstool or cushion to sit on if you do not
want to sit on a chair.
