Hand Forged Draw Knife

Tutor: Dave Budd www.davebudd.net
Over two days you will make a functional, sharp durable drawknife
using modern tool steel and Iron age forge equipment. On the first day you
will construct your floor level pre-historic forges and using archeologically
accurate tools you will forge and heat treat functional drawknives.

the second day will be concerned with finishing any blades not already heat treated, making and fitting ash handles, finishing with the sharpening and testing of your new tools.

REQUIREMENTS LIST
1.5 - 3 LB hammer (NOT
lump hammer, but long handled hammer!)
Safety glasses/goggles
gloves
Leather apron if you have one
(not essential)
Do not wear synthetic/flamable clothing as there will be some low temperature sparks from the fire.
