Slumping and Fusing (beginners)
Tutor: Ann Pengelly (Website)
We will cut and fuse glass together and then slump or sag it into
moulds. Technical information on kilns and kiln firing temperatures as well
as health and safety will be covered. Projects may include coasters, clocks,
bowls, plates or jewellery. Items will be fired overnight, and will need to
cool, so collection will be necessary at a later date, or postage can be arranged,
if you are not taking both classes.

Requirements list
Notebook and pencil
(see linked class below)
All comers welcome,
whether beginner or improver.
You will learn how to design and make templates, and then enhance an object
with your design. You may purchase flat glass for a stained glass panel, or
bring a smooth glass item, such as a vase or drinking glass. Health and safety
will be covered.

Requirements list
Rubber gloves, protective
glasses, apron
Smooth clear glass item such as a vase or drinking glass to etch onto. Flat
glass for inclusion in a stained glass panel will also be available from the
tutor.

You may attend one or both days, of this fascinating introduction to kiln forming, fusing and slumping glass and acid etching. Whether you are a bead maker or stained glass enthusiast, potter or just interested to learn something new.
